This Giving Tuesday, Courtney Covers Cleveland wanted to do something BIG! After just one week of planning, that’s that’s exactly what I did. With the help and support of the community, I was able to raise $11,700 to Give Back to Ginn!
Ginn Academy is a place that inspires me to my core. I love to walk through the halls and to talk to the students not just about their education, but about life out side of school! I know first hand, this is a place that is truly changing lives and that’s something I wanted to share with the community. As the only all male high school in the state of OHIO, it’s 99% African American and boasts a 99% graduation rate. It’s a place deserving of OUR support and I was honored to do this.
Thank you to everyone who made a donation, whether it was $50 or $500, I truly appreciate the support to help me EXCEED my goal of raising 10k. Thank you to those who were able to attend the special assembly in honor of Giving Tuesday. Not only were we inspired by past students who shared how Ginn Academy changed their lives, but we also had the chance to hear from leadership including Ted Ginn Sr. who shared his vision for the school, what makes it unique, and why he needs the support of the entire community.
